SEPTEMBER 25, 2010 - CHESAPEAKEMAN ENDURANCE FESTIVAL


This exciting event tests the endurance of the best athletes, who come from all over to compete. The day features multiple events:  ChesapeakeMan Ultra Triathlon, which includes a 2.4-mile swim in the waters of the Choptank River, a 112-mile bike, and a 26.2-mile run -- 140.6 miles in all! ChesapeakeMan SwimFest, 2.4 miles in the Choptank River. ChesapeakeMan Aqua Velo, 2.4 miles of swimming and 112 miles of biking. Plus, new this year, the Skipjack Triathlon, which includes a 1.2-mile swim, 64-mile bike, and 10-mile run. The race begins at Great Marsh Park in Cambridge (at the end of Somerset Avenue on the banks of the Choptank River), and ends at Vikings Stadium at Cambridge-South Dorchester High School, 2475 Cambridge Bypass in Cambridge. Second Saturdays! Downtown Cambridge rolls out the red carpet every Second Saturday of the month.  Shops stay open late; galleries and museums host openings; music, food, and kids' activities are often on tap as well.
